Folk on the Quay takes place on the 25th and 26th of June 2016 and there will be lots of traditional dancing and music for you to enjoy. There will be 5 outdoor music stages and over 20 teams of Morris Dancers.
Folk on the Quay Line Up so far
There are several traditional (and some not so traditional) bands lined up so far. These include:
Coco and the Butterfields
Jess Morgan Trio
Solana
Goat Roper Rodeo Band
Threepenny Bit
There are lots more to be confirmed and a programme will be available two weeks before the event.
You can find details of all the stages by clicking HERE
Local Pubs Getting Involved
There are several local pubs along the quay that completely join in with the festival and host some of the events.
These pubs are the Custom House, Rope & Anchor, Portsmouth Hoy, The Stable, King Charles, Jolly Sailor, Lord Nelson, Poole Arms and the Thistle Hotel.
Two of our favourites are the Stable and the King Charles.
The Stable (Pizza, Pies and Cider) is new on Poole Quay and already very popular. They have folk and acoustic music inside on both afternoons from 2-6pm.
The Stable will also be selling craft cider, giving away bags, badges and stable goodies! And they are running a competition to win a meal for 4.
The King Charles is one of Folk On The Quay’s session pubs with Irish sessions on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 2pm. Rather than a concert, the musicians play together for the craic!
Over 10,000 People Expected
As usual there are over 10,000 people expected to attend over the weekend. The weather through June is set to be lovely as well so there is every chance of a fantastic two days.
If you want to be one of the lucky few to take advantage of our boat trips then be sure to book up in plenty of time.
You will find us on the day in our usual place near the Thistle Stage, outside the marina. You should be able to spot our blue marquee!
Hope to see you soon. Have fun and Get Lost!
