Thundercat Racing – Dates Announced

Time to go until the Thundercat Racing begins in Bournemouth:

Back in the 80’s a slightly not normal South African decided to strap an outboard motor to a small rubber boat (known then as a pencil boat) and race them down the rapids.. a few years later and the sport has evolved with purpose built 4m inflatable catamarans coupled with a 50hp motor. A driver and co driver work together competing in 3 challenging diciplines, with National European and World titles up for grabs! That’s how Thundercat Racing started.

The two-day event will see more than 20 two-man teams from across the UK battle to gain points towards claiming the prestigious title. 16th/17th April – tickets £45. There is no better way to watch the event and get dramatic photographs then from a power boat next to the course.

Places are limited so make sure you book early otherwise you will miss out. We will be including a Sea Safari trip that will also take in the  Thundercat Racing action. The Sea Safari will tour along the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast including Old Harry Rock and the smugglers caves. We will go as far down the coast as Dancing Ledge and come back via an extra loop toward Bournemouth Pier where the racing takes place. We will also take in the views of Swanage Bay and Durleston Head. All these sites are great opportunities for photographers to capture them from the sea.

We have got two trips per day of racing that will leave from Poole Town Quay as normal. Remember to arrive 15 minutes before your trip is due to depart.

It will be a great day. Full of action and excitement and guaranteed to be an adventure you remember for a long time to come.

We look forward to seeing you out there soon. Have fun and Get Lost!
